Anyone got a favourite? I'm heading over there for the coming winter & want to work in a resort. I've heard Whistler/Blackcomb is pretty good...

 Any recommendations?

BC is your best bet as far as finding great snow and big mountains. Whistler definitely has the reputation, big mountain with incredible terrain, and its an awesome place to ski, but there are some other mountains in the area that are just as great but without the same hype, reputation, and probably crowds. If you're working though, I'd say go with Whistler because as an employee you can ski free at all the other resorts owned by Intrawest Resorts (including Steamboat and Copper in Colorado, and a bunch of others across the country. I'm a part time instructor at an Intrawest mountain, and I've got to say the benefits aren't too bad:).

Depends on what you're looking for.

Castle Mountain in southern Alberta has great terrain and is a small resort that isn't busy

Fernie in the kootenays is another of my favorites, crazy amounts of snow.

The new expansion at the Revelstoke hill is fantastic as well.

I don't know really what I'm looking for, cos I've only ski-ed in 4 places (meaning 4 times) I just really want a winter in the snow and a chance to ski lots :)

Thanks for the tip about Intrawest - they look good, and they seem willing to accept my CV without making me give 350 pounds to a UK recruiting agency!

Yay! Getting excited, even tho it's 6 months away!

Banff offers you 3 ski resorts, and it is a half day drive to many more (Fernie, Kicking Horse, Castle)... we have dry beautiful powder that lasts from Mid-November till late May, and you're pretty much gaurenteed a couple of sweet lines each time you go out if your a little adventurous.  We don't get the rain like whistler and our area is less condos more real.  I came here for one winter and am looking foward to my 6th this year.  Also back country skiing is huge if that is something you are looking for, along with amazing cross country skiing, iceskating and snowshoeing.  I haven't spent much time in whistler, so I can't really say what it's like... all I know is you'll make friends from all over the world and a couple of them will be in your life forever.
